James Rodriguez obviously wanted to find a favorable environment to flourish in a career marked so far by a few highs (under the jersey of Real Madrid, and with Colombia at the 2014 World Cup) and a lot of lows.
The 29-year-old Colombian international is committed to Everton or he finds Carlo Ancelotti, the coach with whom he has posted the best performance of his career, with the club merengue.
This season, under the direction of Zinédine Zidane, James has only played 14 games in all competitions, being all the same La Liga champion.

He signed a two-year contract (and one optional) for an estimated sum of 25 million euros. “Everton have signed Colombian playmaker James Rodriguez from Real Madrid on a two-year contract, with a one-year option. (…) He won eight national titles, in four different countries, in addition to two Champions Leagues with Real Madrid. In Porto, he won the Europa League in 2010/11“Says the Everton statement.
Ancelotti, a reason for signing James
Without making any mysteries about the reasons for his coming to the twelfth place in the last English championship, James valued the presence of Carlo Ancelotti.
“I am really very happy to be in this great club, a club with so much history, and here with a manager who knows me very well.. I can’t wait to achieve great things here – and to win things, that’s everyone’s goal. I am convinced that with Carlo and his technical team we can achieve great things and one of the main reasons (why he signed) is the presence of Carlo Ancelotti.
I had a great time with him before at two different clubs. It was a huge reason to come here “, explained the player.
