Despite considering herself an open person, the singer is not willing to talk about her breakup involving her young children.
Kelly Clarkson will not talk about her divorce for the sake of her children.
The singer separated from her husband, Brandon Blackstock, in June after almost seven years of marriage, and has said that while she is an “open person”, she is not willing to talk about their breakup as it involves the two. The couple’s young children, River Rose, six, and Remington Alexander, four.
She said: “I am a very open person, but I am not going to be able to be really open about this in certain aspects because there are children involved.”
The ‘Kelly Clarkson Show’ host thinks she will eventually talk about her divorce in the future, but in a “natural” way, rather than a “planned” discussion.
But for now, the 38-year-old singer wants to respect the privacy of Brandon, 43, and his two teenage sons, Savannah and Seth, from a previous marriage.
She explained during an interview with the Los Angeles Times: “There are a lot of little hearts involved in this and as people feel, ‘Oh my God, what a loss…’ imagine how it is at the epicenter of the storm. It’s a lot to process and deal with, just as a family. So since it’s not just me, I’m probably not going to dig too deep. “
