The Vice Minister of Health, Xavier Solórzano and the Undersecretary of Provision of Services, Carlos Jaramillo visited, since last Friday, the Galapagos Islands to evaluate the actions of attention integral and biosecurity implemented in the health houses, to control spread of COVID-19 in the province.
The same day, tombas authorities, in the company of Jorge Romero, Zonal 5 Salud coordinator, and Norman Wray, president of the Governing Council of Galapagos, they toured the facilities dthe Basic Hospital República del Ecuador. Within the work schedule, Solórzano took the opportunity to deliver new and modern biomedical equipment: a ventilator, two multiparameter monitors, an ultrasound machine and a defibrillator, than will serve to strengthen comprehensive care for the population of Santa Cruz.
After your first activity, they moved to laboratory facilities of the Agency for the Regulation and Control of Biosafety and Quarantine for Galapagos. There they knew the activities that the technicians develop in charge of processing and analyzing potential samples of the COVID–19. ANDThis research center, since the beginning of the pandemic, became a fundamental ally in the fight against the coronavirus.
After this tour, Vice Minister Solórzano performed several nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab tests to detect possible cases of COVID-19 in the community and in public institutions and privadas. Lhealth professionals used all the measures and biosecurity garments necessary to prevent contagion.
ANDl saturday inspected the areas operating room, hospitalization, surgical center, pharmacies and warehouse of the Oskar Jandl hospital, on San Cristóbal Island, in order to verify the attention to the user and verify the respective supply of medical supplies and medicine in general.
ANDthis sunday national and local authorities participated in the COE meeting Provincial. In the date defined strategies and joint actions between inpublic and private institutions, recruitment and search for vulnerable groups, reinforce vaccination in children and the controls in womanpregnant women, in order to prevent possible infections and avoid overcrowding in hospitals.
The authorisanitary communities also delivered tol Oskar Jandl Hospital other eqbiomedical types, between fans, vacuum cleaners, nebulizers, multi-parameter monitors and an ultrasound for the benefit of the population of the Isla San Cristóbal.

At the end of this extensive agenda, the authorities reminded citizens not to olvidar the use of a mask, physical and social distancing, frequent hand washing and surface disinfection.
