Sixteen years after the only title in its history, the Tampa Bay Lightning is very close to the Stanley Cup finals. The Florida franchise has, in fact, approached a victory in qualifying by dominating the New York Islanders in Game 4 of the series between them. After 20 scoreless first minutes of play, it was the “Big Apple” players who took the lead in this meeting when, after eleven minutes of play in the second half, Brock Nelson played Andrei Vasilevskiy for open the score. But the Lightining’s response was a real … thunderbolt! Fifteen seconds after this goal, Blake Coleman went to deceive Semyon Varlamov before Ondrej Palat did the same … twelve seconds later.

The Islanders could never respond

Led by a single length 20 minutes from the end of the game, the New York Islanders had all the cards in hand to get back into the game … But a little more than three minutes after the resumption of play, Brayden Point seated the domination of the Floridians a little more by scoring the third goal for his team. A success of the Tampa Bay Lightning which was definitely acquired when Pat Maroon widened the gap two and a half minutes from the end of the game. Even by playing the card of numerical superiority by bringing out their goalkeeper, the Islanders players have never been able to close the gap and logically bow (1-4). Now led three wins to one, the New Yorkers are back to the wall and will not be allowed to make mistakes this Tuesday in Game 5.
