What a start to the season from Provence Rugby! After Angoulême in the opening and Vannes last weekend, the Aix-en-Provence club beat Nevers this Thursday at the opening of the 3rd day of Pro D2, and is therefore guaranteed to remain in the lead at the end of the week. -end. The Provencals won 25-22 after a match rich in suspense. At halftime, the score was 16-16, with one try on each side (Thibaut Zambelli in 10th for Provence, Janick Tarrit in 34th for Nevers) and three penalties (successful by Clément Darbo and Florent Massip on the Provencal side and Shaun Reynolds on the Nevers side). Reynolds gave the Nièvre players six points before the hour mark (16-22, 57th), but Massip responded with his foot and equalized (22-22, 64th). We finally had to wait until the 79th minute to see a team make the difference, and it was Nicolas Bézy who offered the victory to Provence thanks to a drop! With twelve points, Provence is in the lead before going to challenge Oyonnax next week, just ahead of Nevers, second with six points, who will receive Angoulême.
