Since the start of the Ligue 1 campaign, Rennes has been undefeated, with a record of one draw and two wins. The Bretons challenged an ASM team with a similar record in all respects this Saturday, on behalf of the 4th day of Ligue 1. But the meeting did not remain undecided for long. ASM opened the scoring at the half-hour mark with Wissam Ben Yedder. The asemist scorer, on the lookout, took advantage of a disagreement between Damien Da Silva and Steven Nzonzi to score with a right foot strike. 1-0 with the first achievement of the French international this season. This clash between two still undefeated teams was punctuated and Rennes had a lot of opportunities in the first act, without managing to materialize them. 1-0, so that was the score at rest.

The match resumed and Ben Yedder was still as threatening in the second act. The Monegasque striker took advantage of a serve from Djibril Sidibé shortly before the hour mark to attempt a big strike with the left foot, which hit the Breton bar. But Monaco retreated and Rennes insisted on their side and in the 65th minute, Martin Terrier combined with Benjamin Bourigeaud, whose shot was going to crash into the ASM post.

Truffert changes everything

Stade Rennais would also be rewarded for their efforts at the end of the game. Thus, ten minutes from the end and following a superb service from the left of Adrien Truffert, Steven Nzonzi placed a skull blow which deceived the vigilance of Benjamin Lecomte. 1-1 after validation of the VAR. But the Rennais, who did everything to come back, would manage to pass in the final minutes through Truffert, who took his chance from entering the area and took advantage of a hand error by Lecomte. A goal, an offering in a first for the Rennais. 2-1, final score, Rennes overthrows ASM and shows self-sacrifice.
