A player in the qualifications of Roland-Garros positive for the Covid-19

This is what the organizers of the Parisian Grand Slam tournament announced on Monday in a press release: “The management of the Roland Garros tournament informs that a player in qualifying has tested positive for Covid-19. In accordance with the health protocol of the tournament, this player has been excluded from the women’s qualifications table which begins tomorrow (September 22) and will remain isolated for 7 days. In total, around 900 tests have been carried out since Thursday, September 17, ”writes the FFT.

Five players excluded on Sunday

Sunday, the Parisian tournament had already announced that five players t (the Uzbek Denis Istomin, the Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles, the Serbian Pedja Krstin, the American Ernesto Escobedo and the Bosnian, Damir Dzumhur) were excluded from the men’s qualifying draw. , including three as a “contact case” of their trainer, with whom they shared the same room. Remember that according to the protocol put in place by Roland-Garros, each player must test negative twice before starting the tournament, and will then be tested every five days once the tournament has started.
