Two weeks after losing their Challenge Cup quarter-final to Leicester on the green carpet, Castres Olympique must once again face the coronavirus. In a press release published on Wednesday, the Tarn club confirmed that eleven members of its workforce have tested positive after a wave of tests organized on Monday. “The club was unfortunately led to note at the end of the tests carried out on Monday the presence of eleven new positive cases within its workforce and consequently an active circulation of the virus, assures the CO, which confirms the taking of measures in order to limit the damage. The club communicated to the NRL all the elements to analyze the situation and assess the consequences to be given on the sporting level. In the meantime, training has been suspended until Friday. “

The match against Brive threatened

After seeing their Top 14 match against Montpellier, scheduled for last weekend, postponed, Castres Olympique could be deprived of their match against Brive, scheduled for this Saturday at 6.15 p.m. “Castres Olympique isolated the positive players and faced the situation hoping to be able to resume their normal activity as soon as possible”, it is confirmed in this press release. Cédric Chadourne, referring doctor of the CO with regard to the follow-up of the tests also regretted the time which turned out to be necessary to obtain the results of the tests. “Despite all the preventive measures that we can take in health matters and despite all the efforts made by the laboratories to obtain the results of the tests as soon as possible, certain parameters are unfortunately not controllable”, declared the latter. The LNR will now have to rule on the postponement of this weekend’s match.
