For many South Asian Americans, Taco Bell has been a fast food mainstay because so many of their menu items can be made vegetarian simply by replacing beans with meat, according to one Delightful writer.

“The perfect Taco Bell menu item is Mexican pizza, substitute the meat for beans, add potatoes, fritos and nacho cheese sauce,” writes Rima Parikh. “Dous in Fire sauce to taste.”

Early SeptemberMexican pizza fanswent crazy on social media after announcing that one of their favorites was on the way. According to Taco Bell, the pizza packaging did not fit the company’s vision for the future.

Also on the chopping block are pico de gallo, which will be replaced with fresh diced tomatoes and shredded chicken.

The old items give way to two nationwide menu additions – the Chicken Chipotle Melt and Dragonfruit Freeze – as well as a regional rollout of Green Sauce and a Quesalupa.
