The Coman show!
The best club in Germany made a reigning European champion match, with a score played like a steamroller. Maybe we’ll have to stop talking about Kingsley Coman as a backup player – and not just because the Blues winger left his name in the books two months ago. This Wednesday, the former Parisian titi almost took care of everything. It was he who unblocked the situation of a marvel of control in extension-hit placed (1-0, 28th). It is he, again, who distilled a caviar in Goretzka for the goal of the break – easy (2-0, 42nd). And it was he, finally, who closed the Bavarian festival with a slalom of hooks while dexterity in the area (4-0, 72nd). Awesome. Really.
In the meantime, Corentin Tolisso had completed this tricolor signing by going from his small goal of a missile at mid-distance (3-0, 66th). And the worst part is that Atlético existed by procuring real situations. But this final score still reflects the chasm that separates the two clubs. Bayern therefore takes control of their group in front of Salzburg and Lokomotiv Moscow, who parted back to back (2-2).
Liverpool without shining
If Liverpool did not display such an attractive face, the mere idea of seeing this team rub shoulders with Ajax could delight the purists. We are not going to lie to each other: this gala match did not give birth to a meeting up to expectations. It was not disagreeable though, with highlights on both sides and a short success of the Reds, to the point, on a goal against his camp Tagliafico in the first period (0-1, 35th). Ajax also worried the English champion, whose lack of offensive realism will be noted above all on Tuesday evening. Liverpool therefore enters quietly into this great bath, putting a little foot into it. This is enough for the happiness of Klopp, who has other business to manage. Atalanta is ahead of Liverpool in this group thanks to a final victory against the Danes of Midtjylland – small thumb of the group (0-4). Zapata, Papu Gomez, Muriel and Mirantchouk have scored for the Dea.
In group C, that of OM, Manchester City did the job against Porto (3-1). The Dragons had yet opened the scoring quarter of an hour of play by Dias (0-1, 14th) but the band in Guardiola equalized on a penalty transformed with authority by Agüero (1-1, 20th), before having his opponent to wear in the last half hour thanks to Gündogan (2-1, 65th) and Ferran Torres (3-1, 73rd).
Finally, in group B, Real Madrid are alone last after the parity score between Inter and Borussia Mönchengladbach (2-2). Serial C3 scorer last season, Romelu Lukaku started his campaign well at the top level by offering himself a saving double – his second goal allowing the Lombard club to snatch a point. On the German side, the former Ligue 1 acquaintance, Ramy Bensebaini – from a penalty spot – and midfielder Jonas Hoffman were the evening scorers.
