The NHL has heard the appeal launched by Montpellier. After noting a large spread of the coronavirus within it, with nine professional players, a member of the staff and a player from the training center tested positive on Wednesday, the MHB immediately contacted the National Handball League to obtain the postponement of his match against Saint-Raphaël scheduled for this Saturday, just as the Montpellier club has contacted the European Handball Federation so that the European League match against Magdeburg, scheduled for next week, suffers the same fate. The NHL communicated this Thursday on this subject and, unsurprisingly, validated the request for postponement from the double European champion club.

Half of the day already postponed

But the meeting between Héraultais and Varois will not be the only one postponed on the occasion of this 6th day of Lidl Starligue. Indeed, following the discovery of several cases of coronavirus within Tremblay’s squad, the match against PSG which was to take place this Sunday was also postponed to a later date. In the same case as Montpellier, with seven players positive for the coronavirus, Nîmes will not play more this weekend. Indeed, the NHL has confirmed the postponement of the match scheduled for this Saturday against Istres. In addition, USAM has already obtained the approval of the EHF for the postponement of its European League match against Füchse Berlin, scheduled for Tuesday. Three matches which are added to the postponement of the meeting between Aix and Ivry, the PAUC not wishing to play behind closed doors for economic reasons.
