The new Ariana Grande era has begun.
On Thursday, the pop star, 27, released the music video for her new single “Positions,” taking turns playing various White House staff from president in the Oval Office to cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
But the singer’s commander in chief outfits are far more glamorous than anything we’ve seen before; she channeled Jackie Kennedy’s classic fashion sensibility in a Gucci knit dress ($2,700) with a Gucci tiered pearl necklace ($2,950) and a pillbox hat for a mock press conference, a black Mugler strapless corset ($1,850) and a pencil skirt with Gucci loafer platform heels ($980) for a strut down the hallway.
She also wore an A-Line white jacket with calfskin opera gloves as well as an off-white peplum jacket and short A-line skirt with contrasting belt with a satin headpiece and crystal encrusted heels, all by Lanvin for various scenes inside the White House.
She stuck with a black-and-white theme throughout, showing off her various tattoos in a Cushnie strapless top ($447), a Balmain White and black knit crop top ($950) with a white beret and a vintage Pinko houndstooth coat for a chilly walk outside with her various dogs.
The lyrics are about more than just positions of power; Grande shows her love for boyfriend Dalton Gomez with words like “Heaven sent you to me / I’m just hoping I don’t repeat history,” “Know my love infinite nothing I wouldn’t do” and “Said boy I’m tryna meet your mama / On a Sunday / Then make a lotta love / On a Monday.”
All Arianators can agree: Ariana 2020 is serving more than looks.
