Two tournaments in Cologne but only one winner. After dominating Félix Auger-Aliassime last Sunday in the final of the first of two tournaments organized in the German city, Alexander Zverev made short work of Diego Schwartzman to double the bet in front of his audience. If the start of this final saw the two players compete, the 7th in the world found flaws in the game of the Argentinian to sign the first break of the match. After having dismissed a break point, the number 1 seed of the tournament once again put pressure on the Argentinian who was able to save two double break balls but not the third. In the process, Alexander Zverev did not shake the service to win the first set.

Schwartzman never imposed his game against A.Zverev

At home, the German has not known a moment of hesitation in this final. From the first game of the second round, the 7th in the world offered a first break point but Diego Schwartzman resisted to win his throw-in. But, for the Argentinian, this game will remain the last he was able to win in this one-sided final. Indeed, from there, Alexander Zverev took control of the rally, winning game after game and converting all the break points he was able to get. Aligning five consecutive games, the number 1 seed ended the game on the service of the world number 9 to afford a second title in two weeks in Cologne (6-2, 6-1 in 1h11 ‘).
