Juan Carlos Zevallos, Minister of Public Health and Francisco Pérez, Zonal 8 coordinator, visited the General Hospital of Durán (Guayas), which is under construction, in order to verify that the different spaces are in accordance with national and international health standards. The first phase is expected to culminate later this year.
This second-level care facility will have outpatient areas, imaging, operating rooms, delivery rooms, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), dialysis, emergency, observation for adults and children. In addition, offices for internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, psychology, surgery and diagnostic support.
The health authority emphasized that it will monitor the progress of the work until it is completed. “In this way, services will be guaranteed to citizens, in a place that provides trust, comfort and quality of care,” he stressed.
This health home will have a hospital capacity of 120 beds and is expected to receive users from Durán, Samborondón, rural Guayas, and other neighboring sectors. In addition, it will contribute to the training of medical specialists.
