The future of Rennes, at least for the next match, will not go through the feet of Eduardo Camavinga. Julien Stéphan, the team’s coach, announced a withdrawal from the young midfielder for the match against Brest on Saturday in Ligue 1 (5 p.m.).

Stéphan gave more information on the injury of the young French international of 17, who was absent against Sevilla FC, Wednesday night in the Champions League (1-0). “With the efforts made during a half, it turned into more than a crutch. Initially, it is a crutch, a contusion, a blow that he takes, but a blow more violent than he imagined, because he felt a little discomfort but not to the point of asking to go out (against Angers, last Friday), and a crutch bleeds a little, the bruise has spread more. His package is recorded for this match and certainly the next two too“, he indicated.

Daniele Rugani absent “several weeks”

The following matches will take place in Chelsea, on November 4 in the Champions League, then against PSG, at the Parc des Princes, three days later. In addition, Stéphan also announced that Daniele Rugani, the Italian defender, who arrived from Juventus Turin, will be missed “Several weeks” of competitions. He was replaced after less than 20 minutes of play in Seville, during the defeat of Stade Rennais.

Benjamin Bourigeaud, also affected by an injury against Sevilla and replaced in the 49th minute of the game, could also be missing against Brest. He will take a test on Saturday morning to learn more about his physical condition.
