Facing Mont-de-Marsan, Grenoble is restarting

Grenoble did not want to gamble. Beaten at Vannes last weekend, the FCG players were keen to take advantage of the reception of Mont-de-Marsan, caught in a negative spiral, to resume their march forward. But the first 40 minutes in Grenoble did not live up to expectations. Romain Latterrade scored the first try of the game after only three minutes of play. The two teams held on to each other but, six minutes before the break, Ange Capuozzo was able to put the FCG back in the direction of the market, putting the two teams tied when it comes time to find their locker room. Remobilized by Stéphane Glas, the Grenoblois approached the second period in a completely different way.

Grenoble managed a shorthanded end of the match well

The first quarter of an hour was, in fact, a one-way street in favor of the Isère club. After a try by Romain Fusier two minutes after the resumption of play, Benito Masilevu added to the bill ten minutes later. However, that was not enough to knock out a Mons team looking for a second league success this season. Indeed, Simon Desaubies put his team back in the direction of the march fifteen minutes from the end of the meeting. After an exchange of courtesies between the scorers Jonathan Bousquet and Mathieu Smaili, who then scored for the first time on penalty in this meeting, Mont-de-Marsan did not know how to take advantage of an end of the game in Grenoble outnumbered following the yellow card received by Deon Fourie. Grenoble emerged victorious from this meeting (24-17) and climbed up to eighth place in the standings while Mont-de-Marsan, beaten for the fifth time in a row, remains penultimate.
