Decreased by the coronavirus, Nanterre did not have many illusions before going to Ljubljana, Slovenia, for his match of the 6th day of the Eurocup. And indeed, the Ile-de-France residents, with only eight players, bowed, even if they resisted well: 75-63. It was Pascal Donnadieu’s men who started the game the best, and who had a six-point lead in the fourth minute. But the Slovenes, who could count on three additional players, went ahead in the eighth minute and were then never again led, thanks in particular to the 20-9 successful in the second quarter and their great domination on the rebound (52- 39 in total).
February – Wembanyama, that promises!
Ljubljana led 40-28 at half-time and kept increasing their lead until the last minutes (+17 in the 38th), to ensure a fairly easy victory, in the wake of a Rion Brown in double-double (17pts, 11rbds). Aged 21, strong Nanterre winger Ivan February broke the screen in Slovenia, with 23 points scored (5/13 to 3pts), while the great hope of French basketball, Victor Wembanyama (16) finished the game with 5 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists in just over 17 minutes. Very promising ! With this fourth defeat in five games, Nanterre occupies fifth place in Group D, before receiving Gran Canaria, second, next week.
