Legendary actress Jodie Foster appeared on Thursday Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote her movie the Mauritanian. Foster has been nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in the legal drama. Surprisingly, it was actually an award Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was nominated for and won that quickly became a topic of the evening.
Rodgers recently won the NFL’s Most Valuable Player Award. During his acceptance speech, he thanked Foster as a member of his “off the field team.” Foster claims that she doesn’t know Rodgers, but that she is a big fan of Green Bay Packers.
“He just knows I’m his biggest fan,” Foster said. “He said, ‘My team.’ Even if he said, “Off the field.” That makes me a Green Bay Packer.People keep saying to me, ‘No Jodie, that doesn’t mean you’re part of the team.’ But it does mean I’m part of the team!”
Foster was so moved by Rodgers’ surprise shoutout that she plans to do the same for him should she win the upcoming Golden Globe Awards. When asked if she would say his name in a thank you, she said, “Absolutely!.”
